Sea Base Scouts!

Next Monday is our last Scout meeting before we leave for our Sea Base trip. We will meet at the church on Monday (July 8) at 7:00 PM to discuss our travel plans and verify what we are taking with us. All final payments are due at this time.

As you all know, the packing list is on page 34 of the Sea Base hand book. Everyone should bring their hand book and also their completely packed bag. We will go through everyone's bag and inspect the contents to make sure each boy has what he needs.

On Thursday July 11, we will meet again at the church at 6 PM and we will pack the cars for the trip to the airport and complete any last minute paper work.

Departure:
On Friday July 12, we will meet at the church to begin our trip at 6:30 AM. Our flight departs at 8:45 AM (need photo-id for boarding) and arrives in Miami at 11:00 AM. We will then take a shuttle to Sea Base and should arrive around 1:00 PM.

Return Trip:
On Thursday July 18, we will depart Miami airport at 2:00 PM for our flight home. We should arrive back in Atlanta at 4:00 PM. We will be picked up at the airport by our volunteer drivers and should return to the church around 5:00 PM.

Final Reminders:
If anyone cannot attend the Monday night "shake-down" meeting, please contact me directly.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have been selected to attend the Eco Adventure Sea Base Center Excursion for the summer of 2013.  The week we were awarded will be in July 2013.  Here is the details on the adventure:
Eco-Adventure
If you are looking for an up-close, hands-on educational adventure, then the Eco Adventure is for you. Your crew’s home and base of operation for the week will be two 40’ – 45’ sailboats. From there you will launch into your undersea world of exploration by means of snorkel, mask and fins; kayak; fishing pole and glass-bottom viewer. It is here that you will discover and explore the wildlife and ecosystems of the four major marine habitats of the Florida Keys, study the plant and wildlife, and understand their delicate balance. Scouts will return to civilization with a greater appreciation of the undersea world and their roles as stewards of this amazing environment. Crew size 10-12
Payment Schedule:
Down payment: $600 due now.
Second payment: $600 due March 15.
Final payment: $600 due July 1st.
