See attachment below with details about Tray Mountain. This is an awesome opportunity for boys to get more hiking and backpacking experience. This is a fairly easy hike with a beautiful vista view from the top. Don't forget to sign up on the "Trip Reservations" form. It's on the left-hand menu near the bottom.
The Le Conte Mountain climbing trip is scheduled for November 12 (Friday) through 14 (Sunday). Cost of trip is still being determined. More news soon...
The Scoop on ScoutFest 2010
What is ScoutFest?
Big one-day exhibit and demonstration of everything that Scouting is and does
Indoors and outdoors
Noisy, active and fun for the entire family
Opportunity for units to “show your stuff" and also to “learn new ideas”
Who should come to ScoutFest?
Everyone involved in Scouting should participate
The general public is invited to come and discover what Scouting is all about. It’s our biggest way to help reintroduce Scouting to Atlanta
Where and When is ScoutFest?
Cobb Galleria Centre
Two Galleria Parkway
Atlanta, GA 30339 October 23, 2010
What Can I Do?
Save the date on your calendar and make ScoutFest part of your program plan for 2010. Start thinking about how your unit will participate in ScoutFest. More details about unit participation will be published early in 2010, but start listing ideas now for the kinds of things your unit might want to demonstrate or exhibit. Read information at www.ScoutFestATL.org. Visit often because it is updated regularly. Join the ScoutFest planning team.
Please remember to welcome the new Scouts from 744 into our Troop!
Please turn in your 2010 medical forms as soon as possible. These are required for all BSA outings during the 2010-2011 year. The form can be found under the Documents link on the left-hand menu of our website. Please print the form and take it to you pediatrician and have it filled out and signed. Ask your doctor ahead of time if they will require your boy to have a physical before completing the form.
Completed forms need to be turned in to the Scoutmaster.
WHEN: Sunday, March 14th, 2010, 2PM - 4PM

Come learn all about Dutch Oven cooking. We will have food to share and fun to prepare.
This event is for the whole family. We hope you will come and see what the Scouts of Troop 433 are working on.
Flyer attached below.
This Saturday (Feb. 20) we will be volunteering to help with Pack 744's Blue and Gold. It is at the Church gym from 11 to 2. If you can come early you can help setup.
It is time again to collect the annual dues for Troop 433. Our dues have been kept low by monitoring our expenses, selling popcorn, and the hard work of our treasurer, Stanton Lanier.
Please bring a check for $65 and mark it "annual troop dues" and give it to Stanton at your earliest convenience.
Deposit needed for Summer Camp at Rainey Mountain.
Please make a $75 check out to BSA Troop 433 and give to Stanton.
Deposit is required before you can sign up for the merit badges being offered at camp.
Please note: Total cost for camp will be approximately $230. Camp dates are June 27th - July 3.

I'd like to have a meeting on Monday the 18th. There is no school on Monday and we normally would not meet. However, we need to meet to plan for the upcoming Camping Trip on the 29, 30 & 31. We will go to Providence Canyon State Park (www.gastateparks.org/Providence). This is a beautiful park 2+ hours south in Lumpkin, Georgia. Since the 29th is an early release day from school, we will try to depart early afternoon. We will stay in the Pioneer Campsite and do day hikes from our base camp. We will treat this like a backpacking trip with everyone bringing there own food and cooking gear. You can team up with a buddy if you are short any gear. The only cost for this trip is gas and the cost of the camp site. I estimate the cost at $20 - $30 per scout.
We will work on the Wilderness Survival MB. We need time to plan & prepare for the trip. Due to the cold weather, we need to be sure everyone has the proper gear for the trip. I'd also like everyone to begin putting together a personal survival kit. You do not need this for the meeting on Monday. You will need it for the camping trip. There are many sources on the web (under Personal Survival Kit) for ideas. You do not need to go out and purchase anything new. Many times you can make them from items you already have at home. Please review the requirements for this MB at Meritbadge.org.
Thanks and I look forward to seeing everyone Monday the 18th.
